Decibel Meter Privacy Policy

Effective: 2026-11-04 · Last updated: 2026-11-04 · App: Decibel Meter / 分贝检测 (com.yaty.audiometry)

Decibel Meter (the "App") is developed and operated by the yatyapp developer ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the App accesses, why, where it is stored, and how you can control it. Please read it before using the App.

Summary: We run no server that collects user data. Measurement records, audio and video are stored only on your device by default. The App integrates Google services for ads, analytics, crash reporting, sign-in and payments, which process some device and usage information under their own privacy policies.

We request permissions only when you use the related feature. You can revoke them at any time in Settings > Apps > Decibel Meter > Permissions. The related feature will stop working; other features are unaffected.

2. How each feature handles your information

2.1 Noise check

The App reads the microphone at 44.1kHz and calculates decibels on the device. Once a measurement starts, the App records the raw sound to a WAV audio file and saves it with the dB data as one record. Audio is never uploaded to us or any third-party server.

2.2 dB camera

While filming, the App records video and sound and writes dB statistics, time, address, coordinates and weather into the video frames. Video and audio files are saved on your device. Note that location shown in the watermark is visible to anyone you share the video with.

2.3 Voice-activated recording

While the App's main screen is in the foreground, the App continuously monitors the microphone level. When the level reaches your threshold (70dB by default, adjustable from 40 to 140dB), the App automatically records for 3 minutes: audio on the noise check tab, or video plus audio on the dB camera tab. Recordings stay on your device. Monitoring stops when the App goes to the background.

2.4 Location and weather

2.5 History and sharing

Each record is stored in a local SQLite database: start and end time, duration, min / average / max dB, the dB time series, and the paths of the related video and audio files. When you share, the App builds a ZIP with an Excel sheet, the video and the audio on your device and hands it to the system share sheet. You decide who receives it.

2.6 Google sign-in (optional)

Sign-in is not required to use the App; it is needed only to buy or restore a membership. After sign-in, the App receives your Google account user ID, display name, email, phone number (if linked to the account) and profile photo URL through Firebase Authentication. The App only shows your name and photo on the Me page and uses your account identity to complete and restore purchases. This information is not sent to any server of ours. You can sign out on the Me page at any time.

2.7 Membership and ad quota

Purchases are processed by Google Play Billing; we never receive your card or payment account details. Membership status and extra record quota earned from rewarded ads are stored on the device in encrypted form.

3. Third-party services

The App integrates the following services. They process information independently under their own privacy policies, which we do not control. We recommend reading them.
